Try the Alpine TME-M760...or if that won't fit, try the TME-M580 which is just a smaller version. Both are very high quality monitors with 120* viewing angles, 16x9 wide-screen display and have over a 280,000 pixel count! Look to pay about $620 retail per monitor for the larger ones and about $400 retail per monitor. Hope that helps!

$620??? for a headrest monitor? I know they arent that much in Houston. If they are that much that is a hell of a markup.

You can put up to 5.6 monitor in your headrest with the headrest shrouds. I have 5 inch in mine and it is a tight fit.

Buy those cheap monitors for looks. Buy the name brand for picture quality. There is a difference.

Ya I hear that I have alpine CVA-1105 up front and Nec-vox 6.5 in the rear and you can tell the difference, I am going to try a video amp for the rear screens, if that don't clear it up I will have to jump up to the Alpine 6.5 widescreens..

You are absolutely right ShowSS12. All I can say is you get what you pay for when it comes to the quality of the monitors and install. Quality monitors are not cheap and cheap monitor are not quality.

If all you want is a monitor just to say that you have a monitor, then by all means get the cheapies...I would! But if you want a monitor that has virtually zero shadowing (good viewing angle) when not sitting directly in front of it and a great picture (high pixel count) then you have to get a quality monitor.

Can you find an Alpine monitor cheaper than what I have listed? Sure you can! Just make sure it's from an authorized dealer (not trans-shipped) or there is absolutely zero warranty on the product...so if something were to go wrong with it then you'd be on your own. Most authorized dealers will be within a pretty close price range of each other on like products with some rare circumstances like clearance/discontinued sales.

This is also a great time of year to purchase because many of the manf's are getting rid of 2002 products and ushering in the 2003's. Shop around is my best advice...esp. with installs. Ask to see pics of previous work. Any quality custom (and I stress custom) installer should have at least a few photos of some of the work that they have done in the past. You get what you pay for with installs too.

Just my $.02 but I'm around car audio/video all day 5-6 days a week and have an affinity for mobile video.

CartoySS:
How about the picture quality on the older Alpine TME-750's? I seen some on ebay a good price. How do they compare to the new ones?

Thanks

If you buy them on Ebay (or most places online for that matter), like CarToy said, the warranty won't be worth the paper it's printed on. Unless you get it from an authorized dealer, most high-end companies won't honor the warranty.

Do the monitors have the built-in heaters to protect the screen from freezing? It is a concern around here in the frozen north.
