Double Din Install Questions

I just recently bought a 96 Impala that had all of the audio stripped out of it when I bought it. The dash must have had a double din unit in it becuase the center plastic bar that seperates the radio and temp controls was already gone.

Other than the expensive kit that is sold on the internet, what did everyone else use to mount there radio. I bought a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT and it doesnt have any type of sleeve or anything with it. I figured I would have to make some brackets but I dont see where you can even attach them to the plastic framework of the dash.

I went ahead and made a template of a bracket that I am going to use to mount my radio to. It is similiar to the DetailSS kit and the one tht another member made (I will add props to this later).

I bought a mounting sleeve off of ebay for my radio, a AVH-P3200BT.

Ill post pics of the bracket that I am going to use when I get it cut out of steel.

This will give you some ideas if you need help making the bracket, this is how I did mine, also I wouldn't sleeve mount the headunit, if it has iso mount son the sides of it use them instead. https://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...highlight=avic
