CIA Cat-back system - Group Purchase?

I'm going to be upgrading my exhaust shortly with a new to me set of Tri-y's and Cats and most likely going to replace the current cat-back with a system from Dan. Dan offers a lot of options with his kits and the track record of fitment and performance of his kit is really good.

So I thought before following up with Dan, I would like to see if there are others considering a kit from him. While I'm sure he does not make as many kits as he may have 10 or 15 years ago, maybe a certain number of kits could give us a nice discount.

Let me know if you are interested and have some sort of idea of what kit you may want. I'll let him know we have "X" amount of members interested and see if he would be willing to offer us a discount based on how much interest there is.

I'm going with a CIA kit and not considering any other system at this point cause this is what I really want and have lived with my FMaster kit for many years. If there is other interest out here, maybe we could save a few bucks while getting a great system from Dan.

Here is a link to his Cat-back systems on his website.

That's about the same system I want to go with.

Not sure we can expect much of a discount without more members and maybe we'll see some more interest over the next couple of weeks. I'm looking to follow up with Dan sometime in September.

Get the stainless. In your area the aluminized system will be rotten within 2 years. Mine was and I don't even drive it in the winter.

Would love to but Stainless is just not in my budget and not sure I can justify the additional cost.

However, must disagree with regards to an Aluminized System not holding up for just a few years. My current system, Flowmaster American Thunder catback, is with the exception of the tail pipes, an Aluminized system. This system has been on my car for well over 10 years and is still solid....just passed inspection last month.

My aluminized 2 1/2" Hooker Aero catback lasted 14 years, granted only maybe 80,XXX miles. But it took that long for the muff outlets to rust, and then the tube seamwelds heat eroded open at several places on the top along both sides after the H-pipe. I'd go with a quality aluminized again. The Hookers struck me as heavy gauge, and mandrel bent of course.

\'96SS SOB: SSRI, Herter Tune, Tri-Y II, , 3000 Edge, F/HO bars, METCO extendeds with CV MMC, Bilsteins, currently Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (315/35 rear). Finally, wait for it... LT-4 knock module!
\'96FWB BUW-Butt Ugly White: PCMPerformance tune, HDFA w/ swissed filter, 1/2 SLP s.s. catback with H- and Flow Super 50s, oem opti rebuilt 3 times, SS Bars, METCO LCA, Airlift 1000, Monroe SS, PowerTrax No-Slip, CTS wheels with +1 rubber. Finally, yes again... LT-4 knock module!

I'm just sharing with you my experience. I guess if you have a garage or something that would help but for an outside car that doesn't get driven in the salt/snow the "hot" parts of the system (from the headers back to the X) were rotten within 2 years.

However, if you wanna sell that flowmaster system let me know.

She sees more garage time over the last few years but for quite a while it sat outside. Don't get me wrong, the system is still SOLID, but there are areas of the Aluminized metal at certain seams where there is visible rust that a stainless system probably wouldn't have.

If you were serious about the kit and we could do this without shipping, I'd gladly sell it to you cheap once I remove it. Assuming things come apart well (used band clamps at all joints when I installed it) and looks good after close inspection. I have no reason to suspect issues with the integrity of the system but getting it apart without just cutting at certain points could be tough.
