Mice break in AGAIN!!!!!!!

How do they do it??????? On two of my 95 9C1s, I blocked the air intake 2 years ago............. And two nights ago I found at least two mice them dancing on the headrest of my one of them which has been stored for over four years........ And the interior is disgusting.....stinking and all the seats and the carpeting and door panels are filthy.......... I am at the point of considering scrapping both cars. ..............

I literally have to rip out the whole intrrior, break down the seats and try washing everything, or find donor interiors..........don't know if I have the time and dont want to get sick from some diseases....

How the hell do they get in??????

It's hard to say since they can get into some small openings. I think they can flatten themselves down to the thickness of a pencil.

Sorry to hear your interior got all screwed up. Hopefully you can get it cleaned up and maybe you could look at a device like this to help keep them away.

Several years ago, it was here at the ISSF where I read that liberally applied 'oil of peppermint' repels mice. Don't know how strong the concentration need be, but a large bag of after-dinner mints is not nearly enough.

Time to check for:
  • Any rust holes in the quarter panels, floor, etc
  • Gaps in door and trunk weatherstripping
  • Missing or torn harness grommets through firewall

I don't think they should be able to get out of the HVAC box if they come in through the vent unless they've chewed a hole in it or your missing a component like the resistor insert.

There's a little insert that plugs into the bottom side of the HVAC box that holds 3 resistors that are used for the blower motor.

they get in on the passenger side fire wall air inlet not the one you see by the wipers but the one you do not see down low . this is visible when you remove the top vent cover and look down on the passenger side where you will see a large opening that the blower intake is located. using some 1/4 in rat wire cover this opening .not too hard to do. they can squeeze past the blower motor fins.then come out the vents.

remove the blower motor also see if its loaded with mice sh*t...

On my silverado they made a nest under my under hood fuse box. chewed up my 4WD wire.

after that I began my attack on the rodents . I have killed many not to many lately because I reduced the population using poison and rat traps around my property. one day several years ago I killed 8 in one day.

The only rodents I see around my place are usually dead, or close to it.
