Removal of shifter and cables.

Hello. How about a rundown on removing the floor shifter from a 96 SS in particular the brake release cable and the trans shifting cable as I am going to sell it to other Caprice/Impala owners prior to junking the rest of the car. I have already removed the shifter handle and the console. Thanks Again, Norm.

Use a screw driver and pop the cable off the shifter mechanism.
Then squeeze the sides of the plastic "hook" that holds the cables to the shifter base.
Pull the cables out.
