Front driver seatbelt replacement using passenger seatbelt!

So lately my driver's belt has gotten poor @ retracting. Works but have to manually help it fully retract.
It's old and worn little fraying on edge from decades of use.

It occurred to me I have the front belts from the pos 96 rmw parts car.
That driver belt is ok, better than mine, but still worn.
The passenger belt is very nice.

Luckily they interchange with just a correction of the buckle.
Just needed to twist belt so buckle "flips" to correct side.
Before & after pics for anyone in similar situation.
Since these cars are up there in age finding a good driver seatbelt is NOT likely.
Notice they are identical except for buckle orientation.

There is no difference between the left and right belt. The difference is the retractor. The retractors are side specific. You can move the belt to the other side, and just make sure the belt retracts the same direction as the curl. I have been switching them for years. If you are going to swap retractors, pull the belt out all the way, pin the spool with a piece of metal coathanger, then push/pull the belt out, and remove the rod in the end. Pull/push it through, and insert the "new" belt. Assembly is the reverse. Be careful to keep the pin in the spool until the "new" belt is properly inserted, and the rod inserted.
