OK, so I'm stripping off the driver's seat on my "92 9C1, the cloth skins need to be cleaned badly, the car is so disgusting, the wife won't drive the car.......the car came like that since I bought it last year at auction...
Anyway, the top part is so hard to get off, it's on so tight, feels like I'm literally ripping it off, which now makes me panic on weather I can even get the thing back on. Is there a trick to getting this thing back on?
usually your going to have some hog rings and velcro that holds the seat cover on to the foam,Over time it tends to shrink as the foam forms to the people sitting on it over the years.Use some steam or a old trick we use in the shop, roll up the windows put the heater on and run the car with the doors closed get the seats hot and you can usually get it off,Getting them back on is a different issues but using steam can help get them back on again just have to relax the material and work it
My plan originally was to let it hang and drip dry, but that was in August, i missed the really hot days to do it, so wondering how long it would take now for these foams to dry..
true, over here on the west coast we just had a 80 degree day, I hope it stays nicer a little longer here. I too have a seat skin job ahead of me in like a week.
