Need someoneís advice

I have an all original 1994 impala. Transmission went out on me. What other transmission can I swap in? Reason Iím asking is cause I have two good ones in the garage. One from a 88 Chevy 1500 van and another from a 2000 Tahoe two wheel drive. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Neither is a good choice IMHO.
The 88 is probably actually a 700r4, and the 00 is probably the removable bellhousing version.
The 88 would need a cable setup, and the 00 would need to be properly spaced to TC, wiring and pcm changes.

Garage
Original case/wiring is by far the most foolproof. There are many variants of the 4L60-E. Some are compatible, most are not. Rebuild by a specialist with some upgraded internals is the smart play. Consider a quality 9.5" converter, the install is basically free.

Just curious if anyone has ever run into this. Was driving my car the other day and came to a stop in traffic. Once light turned I hit the gas and car just revved up. Wouldnít not go in any gear or reverse. After I got to the side of the road and set for a while it crunk up and drove fine. It like when the transmission gets hit it quits. Let it cool down and it drives fine till itís hot again. Anyone ever have this happen?
