Water Pump weephole slimy

At 116k I replaced the pump (original one)

At 117k then it went again cause the weephole leaking

Replaced that last month now car has 118k now the pump is NOT LEAKING but there is some gummy sticky slimey green antifreeze on the weephole.

Has anyone had these problems with any type of stickiness under the weephole but no leakage?

Could something be wrong with the WP drive spline on my engine to do this?

any ideas or suggestions or am I just being paranoid?

thanks

If it is the spline or not, you might consider a Meziere electric pump.

Garage
while a good OEM WP should last 100k mi...my experience with "new" AC Delcos is they all weeped and eventually killed Optis...which is why I went EWP 16 years ago and the same EWP is on the car now with over 85k miles on it

after gutting the last one to change over to EWP I see the internals are....well if AC Delco spent maybe $.05 on the spring/seal instead of $.02 maybe they wold not be the POS they are.

if your drive gear is not toast with FU bearings than that should not be why you have been experiencing frequent wp leaking from week hole

" gummy, sticky slimey"....then it may just be old coolant from the previous repair or other seepage that has been there a while and sort of coagulated. If it's not fresh coolant, it's most likely not the weep hole leaking.

Don't panic and think you need another pump or switch over to electric just yet. Why not just wipe it down, keep an eye on it and see if you can verify that it is leaking and from where. Could be nothing or if it is the weep hole, then it's time to replace again.
