Arrow One of ours

I was going through the Oklahoma City Craig's List and found this. Many of us here are looking for parts that are becoming more scarce and we have a member that is a nice guy, with a lot of parts. I have bought from him in the past. Check his listing. He doesn't live in OKC,(I wish he did). It's Mike , our very own vautsmeier. https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/...553201854.html

Wow, lots and lots of good stuff there. When I first opened the link, I saw that google was showing 'Freeport'. I first thought that it was Louisiana, and thought it may be worth a day drive to get stuff, then further saw it's in Illinois. So that road trip is out of the picture.

I'll update the thread if/when I contact him and get a reply just to let y'all know how quick he'll get back to me.

Thx for the link. There's always something that can use a little tinkering on our cars.

Junior. I'm glad you found it helpful. I called Mike and we talked for a bit. He sure is a nice guy and I enjoyed our talk. I bought several items from him and he was quick and the packing was impressive. I'm sure it's to keep shipping cost to the minimum. But all was well protected. He sure is organized, maybe OCD. Check the link to his Ph.# and talk with him.

Well I thought I'd update the thread as I just got a text from him. I asked about the lower dash piece which goes around the radio, and under the cluster around the knee area.

Mine has a few broken tabs which make it sit not so tight, against the dash resulting in a bit of vibration noise. It's merely annoying to me, and not a horrible issue, as I like to listen to the dual exhaust when driving as opposed to a loud radio.

Mike quoted $350 shipped just now, and that's quite a bit more than I am willing to spend on something that is just annoying as to something that needs replacing.

I'll keep my eye on the local TX yards, and hope I can find a respectable donor some day that hasn't completely been beaten to death by sun/heat, and or the BUTCHERS that just break ever one I've seen in the last few years looking to get to the radio or dash cluster.

Yeah, most of these sellers are VERY proud of their parts.

This can be very true. The thing though is that some parts are just not that easy to replace or replicate. After my local GM only yard crushed 50+ B bodies in the "Get rid of the guzzlers" administration heyday, myself and others have a limited selection. What to do? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

I understand that. Lack of an aftermarket allows them to charge as much as they want. Eventually folks will have no other choice.

Wish I could grab everything I find in the yards. Sell a 25 dollar find for 400.

Garage
His ads pop up in my local craigslist whenever I search on there for Impala SS or LT1 stuff. He's within driving distance for me, and I've been meaning to get in touch with him for awhile because I'm sure he'd have a bunch of stuff I could use. Had no idea he was a member on here though.

Something witty.
