Question I need input asap; thinking of swapping amps

I currently have a 2000 rms mono amp and two four channel amps.

1 MB QUART DSC 2000.1
2 MB QUART DSC 480

Thinking of swapping them out for 2 old school xtant amps

1 XTANT x1001
1 XTANT x604

I have two Alpine Type X 10" subs that I'm running with the DSC 2000.1
And 6.5" components that I'm running with the one 480 and a set of 6x9s that I'm running with the other 480.

I'm thinking of running a new set of HEX 600 Diamond Audio 6.5 components and four eclipse 6x9s with the x604 and the Alpine Type Xs with the x604. I've heard they push around 1500 watts of clean power at 1ohm...

What do you guys think? Should I change up my set-up? I'm curious to know if these amps are the real deal and if they are that much better... The MB Quarts are nice but, I would like input as to what you guys think of both set-ups. I should be buying a 250 alternator soon and already have a C&D UPS battery up front and big DEKA intimidator in the trunk with BIG 3...

Always a work in progress

so you wanna run your subs using the weaker 4 channel amp instead of the 2000w mbquart amp + a new set of comps ??

OKAy.. here is what i'd do..

keep the current stuff.. your just down grading power and a lot of the older amp are power hungry.

Those older amps are definitely great amps. Why do you want 4 6x9s though? Save the money and buy better front speakers. I haven't had rear speakers installed in a vehicle in over 2 years, 3 in my Caprice, and I never look back (no pun intended). The Type X is a sound quality sub. Those Xtant amps are known for sound quality. 6x9s are known for sounding like poo.

Yeah I've been told that xtant x1001 @1ohm will push right around 1500 watts of clean power; providing great SQ... That's why I figured I would sacrifice some power for Sound Quality.

I like having a rear fill; I'm just used to it and have always them... I could swap out the 6x9s with a nice set of components though. I'm not completely sold on 6x9s but, I would like some type of rear fill. I just got a set of HEX 600 Diamond Audio 6.5" for the front; I think they're decent. They're old school but, I've had good experience in the past with them... I almost lucked out on 2 sets of RE XXX for $300 but, the guy sold them before I could I respond.

From my understanding, the HEX series speakers have pretty decent sound quality; most Diamond Audio equipment does, or at least did. The RE's are designed more to keep up with a loud substage. I may be wrong on that, but I'm going by what I've read on other car audio forums. I have no experience with either.

Scrap the Diamonds and DEFIANTLY the by-9s and go with some Hybrid Audio's up front, even the 'imagine' series will be a drastic improvement over the HEX. By 9's are great, if you don't want a sub, which you have... lol... Google "Car Audio Cancelation - Rear Speakers"

Be on the look out for JL's replacement of the C5 line as well... But from what I have experienced the budget Hybrids rival JL's SQ c5 line.

Do you like a bright tweeter, similar to a focal type sound or a smooth reference type sound like a silk dome on the C5?

The RE XXX mids are great but for the money spent and the amount of bitch they are to install you can do much better, I was never impressed with any of the tweeters RE has produced, the mids are nice, but they are inefficient.

the SQ you will "gain" will be negliable espc on subs... But it is more of a "baller" amp - so I am all for the Xtant - MB Quart isn't "MB Quart" anymore

For that price I would have jumped ALL over the XXX's just for the mids

That new Pioneer looks pretty killer. I'd definitely jump on that for my Jeep if I didn't have a kid on the way. I'm trying to save the little money I have.

I looked in those Hybrid Audio components and they look beastly; I have two sets of the diamond hex (older model) 6.5" components, 2 sets of eclipse 6x9s, and one set of 6.5" powerbass in car now... I'll probably have to sell all my speakers before buying those hybrid audio comps; tjhinking of going with the clarus series. Also, I'm pulling everything out and going with no rear-fill and 2 12" RE Se with upgraded FI parts... I want to make this a decent SQ set-up. Interested to see if there will be a huge difference with no rear-fill and better up front comps. Wish I would've just held out for the Clarus series comps but, I think I can sell the HEX series locally...

I don't really chime in about car audio, I have been around it for years, and have mostly read bits and pieces about the industry to keep up to date.
Plus I used to work at Circuit City(Yup, remember them?), talked to reps, and got to read some of the industry only magazines and lit.

Car Audio is one of those industries, where they really stick it to the customer, whom they assume don't know any better.
Believe it or not, one of the TOP items at CC, where they made the most money(basically mark-ed up) was CABLES. I got everything at cost. At the time I purchased a 3' long Monster Cable my cost $8, customer price $90.

Got a replacement LCD screen for my Sony laptop, and its made by LG.

The thing with car audio is look at the price tag then take more then 3/4 of the price, and you got around what it costs. As for cables its the biggest scam. Do you really think(unless you are some type of audio savant) that you can tell the difference between a $20 cable and a $400?
esp. in a car with all the other ambient noises.. I'm betting on no.

My point is this, everyone has their own opinion on whats good and whats not. Someone might have told you that brand X sucks, so you think "He knows what he's talking about." Then you have it in your mind that Brand X sucks, nut what you don't know is that Brand X, and Brand Y, are both made in the same factory, with same materials(design of product is of course different story.)
My $4000 Samsung LCD is built in the same plant Sony's are.
Like our Impala's, they are just Caprices really(don't flame you know its true.)

Why did I even write all this? Dunno

At the end of the day, its your money, car, and ears.
