0 gauge to 8 gauge?

Noob audio question, would there be a problem to go from 0 gauge to 8 gauge in a dist block? My old fosgate amps only take 8 gauge and i think the terminals are to close together to use a reducer.. thanks

No, although you'll be limited to the current carrying capability of the 8 gauge. If you try to draw more and don't have it fused to an amperage below the 8 gauge capacity, that section of wire will act as a fusible link. That said, since your amplifier is designed to only use 8 gauge, you're not likely to run into an over-current situation.

Another thing to consider is if your distribution block is capable of accepting an 8 gauge size wire. It may not be designed to accept something that small if it has a 0 gauge input.
