Kicker wants to up grade me to the SL5 Solo's. I have not heard any of the SL7's let alone any SL5's that I though was any good.My question is has any one heard these subs and can you say they sound good. I have read the specs and looks good on paper but I have not ben impressed with what I have heard. I think that those subs where under powered thats why they did not perform. Are these subs really that much better than Comp V.R. if things are done right. Any input would be great.

I know that the SL7's are better but they will not let me pay the difference. If I blow these up then I will have to tell them I told you so. There tech guy said that I would be fine with my old XPL's. I cooked 6 sets of these before they say thay will let my updrade just not to the SL7's like I want (need)
Any one else have anything to say good or bad?

Alot of people say that the L5s are almost the exact same sub as last years L7s.

They have right around the same specs.

But the new L7s handle about double the wattage of last years model. (I think)

I can't honestly say that I have heard the L5s but a freind of mine had 2 12" L7's (last years model) with a 1000watts going to them in the hatch of a dodge stealth and it literally takes your breath away.

Very very loud. Sounds really good. But if you don't like boomy bass then I wouldn't suggest them for you.

That's kinda what I was hoping to hear. I think I will be almost over powering these subs and I know I will if I get another PPI 1200.2 Besides one can't have to much boom if one wants to. I like it intence once and a while.
Thaks for the replys I'm starting to think that the L5's will work for now.

Ive got 3 15" Solo Baric L7's they are the way to go. Especially if it is boom you are looking for. I've just bought 2 new amps 2 2500 watt PPI's and the **** is crazy.

Even with no trunk the system makes your insides rumble and when you sit in the back you can feel the air move. no joke. let me know whats up cause we should be around Gratiot this weekend.
