What is the proper way to hook up a 15in dual voice coil sub? I'm running a 4000watt 2channel amp, that says it's 2ohms stable. I'm trying to get the most bass out of it possible. Is there any certain derection I should face the 15 in the box to get the most bass in the car.
Thanks, Mike

is the sub DVC 4 ohm, or DVC 2 ohm? DVC 1 ohm? DVC 3ohm? 8 ohm? (dvc 4 ohm is most common btw)

is it a mono amp?

if its a stereo amp, is that 2ohms that it says it will handle bridged, or in stereo?

99.9% of the time, facing the subwoofer towards the rear of the car will get you the most bass in the cabin, but it should be easy enough to install everything, then spin it around and move it in the truck to see how it sounds best to YOU.

well, that sub isnt a very good match for that amp at all.

but... running it at 4ohm stereo looks like it will be your best bet.

you can either run the voice coils in stereo to each channel of the amp, or you can run it at 8 ohm mono.

either way will net you the same power, its just a different way of hooking it up.

you will need to run the subwoofer in series (look up a diagram on google if you dont know what that means) to run it at 8ohm mono, or just like i said, run one voice coil to each side of the amp. whatever is easier for you.

I agree with PIMP. I would run it in 8ohm mono so both voice coils see the same signal. If you run it in stereo and there is a different signal from left to right, then the voice coils will fight eachother.

Do you guys think that it would be better for me to run two of those 15's? They weren't very expensive. I could get another one to run on that amp. I also did what you guys said and I have so much more bass, but I still want more so that's why I want another one.

two of those subs would be ideal, and would wire up perfectly to that amp.

you will more than double your output (possibly triple it, depending on box design)

maybe i dont knwo what i'm talkin bout, but if your info says it can do 2 channels at 1000RMS at 4 OHM that is more than what your speakers will take,,,but you can push them to the limit to give yourself to buy some Juggernauts. make sure the box has enough volume and if ported make sure its tuned correctly,,,but will require a lil more space. it will bang like KING KONG though. pimpala can correct me but do like this pic, only on the voil coil wiring and wire it to BOTH channels on the amp.

that diagram doesnt work for his amp.

he needs to wire it at 2 ohm stereo, with the voice coils in parallel on each sub.

or series each sub, and run it in 4 ohm mono.
