Question

Hello folks,
I recently purchased a pair of 2 way 6.5" CDT Classic Braxial components. I'm going to try and fit a 2.5" DSL Midrange speaker above the Braxials on each side. The DLS speakers have a 1" installation depth so I hope they'll fit perfectly on HACKS template without any modification to the doors. They're rated at 90RMS/160MAX.

Now I need to find a good pair of 3 way passive crossovers. I thought about the CDT Eurosport 3 way crossovers. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried this before? I'll take pictures of the install as soon as I get everything shipped.

Thanks for your help guys

Macrom (Morel) has a nice set of 3-way crossovers. I used 'em with a 3 way using a 3" silk mid, worked great.

Question

AzRoad,

-Because I'm planning on removing the 6x9's in the rear deck, will the 3ways be an improvement over the 2ways?
-Will I have to bump up the power to the components once they're converted to 3ways?
-Are there anymore 3way passive crossovers other than the eurosports available?

Thanks

MECP = Mobile Electronics Certified Professional.

Its the national grading on installers so companies know who knows what theyre talking about and who doesnt. But that doesnt mean you know how to install. Its like... you know the tech book smarts but do you know the hands on, troubleshooting, etc parts? That only comes with the field experience. Going on 7 years myself.

Good luck getting that Masters though Roln383LT4. I know guys that have been doing this half their life and have yet to get that level. Myself one of them. But if youre First Class, like I am, then you wont have a problem getting a job anywhere. Just that the Master title you can walk in, say you want the job and theyll practically hire you on the spot.

IMO 3-ways in the rear deck would be overkill, 2 ways would be more than adequate for rear fill.
How much power are you currently putting into the front speakers? What impedance would the 2-way set be vs. the 3-way? As far as 3 way crossovers go, I think that Quart has one too, not sure though. I know the macrom crossovers would work for your application, not sure about others. Just make sure the bandpass frequency does not play too low for that small mid.
As far as MECP, I have never had need to pursue certification, even though I know all the material. I've been into car audio for about 10 years now, have installed proffesionally, and have worked for several manufacturers. Right now I work at a Structural Engineering firm, and have no intentions of ever installing again as a proffesion, there just isn't enough money in it. What ophedia said is 1000% correct. Booksmarts does not equal practical knowledge. In every proffesion, schooling just gives you the basic 10% knowledge you need to start the career, you learn the other 90% in the feild.

AZ,
I'm taking the 6x9's out completely. I'll be adding two free airs on HACKS baffle board later on. When you ask about impedance, all I know is that my braxials are 4ohms and my DLS midranges are 4 ohms. I havent purchased my amp yet so some advice on that would be awesome too.

thanks
