About 2-3 months ago my 91 Caprice was stolen. It was only gone for about a week before I tracked it down and recovered it, but by the time I got to it, it had been striped. I have put a great deal of money into gettin it back in shape(New front bumper, Radiator, door Panels, Grill, Bonneville Seats, Pioneer Radio, 6X9s, Steering Column, Etc...)and now I,m ready to start my sound system but the driver side door speaker wont play it just squeels and i cant turn the volume past level 13 because all the other speakers will stop creating sound. I work at a car dealership so i asked one of the techs. what does he think the problem could be. He told me it was a bad ground wire so i fixed it but the speakr still wont play. Any thought as to what my problem may be?

I tried three different speakers and they all do the same thing. Yesterday I took off the hole door panel and realy got into it to see if i could get it to work with a replacement speaker from Autozone and i got it to work when i tried these 2 black wires that where just hanging but when I connect the actual wires up to it it starts to squeal again. It plays louder now but it still wont go past 20.

Are you sure all speakers are wired correctly? + to + and - to -? I have seen things like this cause major issues.

Also I had a problem kinda like yours and it turned out to be that the connection to the speaker in the door was touching the metal. Moved the speaker over about a .25 inch and no problems ever since. First thing your gonna have to do is isolate the problem.
