I wouldn't touch anything that has the word cap in it. I've had caps and for the price, they are worth s**t. I had like, 800 watts bumpin' my first system with a cap and my lights dimmed like hell

I am running about 2000 watts now and have 2 yellow top Optimas, one up front and one in the trunk and have a 250 amp alternator.

It is RARE that I get dimming. If I do, its usually when I start the car up and start bumping full blast

i have a 200 amp alt 4ga wire but im only running about 1500 watts. do i really need a cap too? i had a red top optma but went though 3 in a year 1/2 so i went back to a high crank suv battery.light dont dim cause i installed a headlight wireing harness plus hid lights.sub hits good but sometimes the amp for the mids and highs cuts out when i have it cranked for a while.

I've thought of upgrading my alternator too, however, i'll be adding a second optima in the trunk first and then will take it from there.

all caps do is cause resistance. But the Batcap batterys are actually some good stuff, but a cap its self does more harm then good imo. That being said, I am going to run 1 or 2 bat cap 2000's in my trunk for my stereo.

But basically get a good alternator first.

if you get light dimming on the rarest occasions

with 2 optimas

and a 250 amp alt

with ac on

with lights on

then something aint right

how may amps does you alt make at idle 800 rpm in drive at stop light with music full blast , ac , and lights

i bet dollars to donuts no were near 250

now you may make 250 amps on the expressway

Its fine when I drive the car, no dimming, its when the car sits for a couple hours and I just turn on the car and crank the stereo up.

I would think its b/c I didn't give it time to charge, but as soon as I start driving, I don't get any dimmage at all
