I posted it in the audio section two days a go with no answer but here it goes latley i'v been noticing when i go through the tracks or when i am changing from CD to another CD i keep hearing the engine noise in the speakers i got the monson tape player and 12 disc changer in the back so what could be the problem? And it's really anoying.

Check all of the grounds. Engine noise through the speakers is most commonly caused by bad grounds.

hmm, this also happens when the power wire and rca's are ran down the same side of the vehicle typically in a amp install or other aftermarket style add on stereo install, would this be possible in your car?

tbsimmons: Which grounds should i be looking for?

DragginRoadmonster: No i don't have a power wire for an amp or something like that my stereo system is basicly stock nothing major even the speakers are stock it just started doing this last week and notice it only happines when i am useing the CD player which's the 12 Disc GM changer.

well if you do not have the setup like was mentioned above a faulty ground or loose ground is most likely the causem i would start looking at the things that you have installed last since this is a recent development.

All the stuf that i installed was plug and play no rewiring was involved at all and i had those thing in my car for over 2 1/2 years now but it just started to act up latley i donno why.

I've seen in the past noise caused by a alternator also.. But id check into the cabling before anything maybe even the harness itself. Check the contacts on the alt and battery... quick things to check before...


also do you only hear this noise when listening to a cd? if you turn the radio down all the way and give the car a lil gas do you notice any noise? If not i would suspect something w/ the cd change/cable...

Yep i only hear this noise when listening to a CD, and that's what i thought to.
