okok, i am no audio pro so i turned here to get your thoughs on my idea...
ok

i have 2 JL Audio W6 12's, gonna be push by a 1 ohm load at 1000ish watts, i want to put them in a JL spec box, then i want to mount them facing up to the back window, cut holes in the back dash, cover with a grill and acualy mount/hand them from the back dash so the subs will hit in the caben....

kinda get the idea?

or i just cut holes and mount them to the back dash with no box but then i am not sure what will sound better.

The W6 JLs will work in a box built to specs. You dont want to use them as free air (just throwing them in the rear deck with no box).

I believe there are a couple who have built their systems the way you describe as far as building the box pointing up through the rear deck. So i will let them chime in. You will def get a better sound by doing it this way. Good luck I will look for some pics to give ya some ideas on what others have done.

W6 will not work in an infinite baffle.

you will need to build a box, and mount it under the rear deck, and then cut it all out.

its been done a hundred times, but it sounds like you need someone who has done it before to either help you, or take it to a shop and have them do it for you.
