Whats a good amp out on the market right now that is good for highs/mids? I have an Alpine MP3/CD player, Two MBQuart 12's with a JBL 150 watt mono amp, Infinity Kappa 6.5" Components in the door, and Pioneer 4 ways in the deck. I want an amp to push the doors/deck speakers. 4 channel preferably, and decent power(80 - 150 watts) as soon I will be putting Infinity 6.5" components in the deck as well. I had an Autotek 400w amp pushing them before, adn they sounded great, but now that I had to give it back to its owner, I am forced to run the head unit again, and it sounds like mush. Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

JL 300/4 or you can go with Alpine V12 series amp. I have the first edition of the V12 pushing my highs Boston 4x6 and pioneer 6x9. I've had that amp for 5yrs. now and not a problem. I'm going to replace that amp with my newly purchase JL 300/4. I'm also going to replace all my highs, going to go all Boston Pro, Focal or JL. You can find some good deals on ebay on the JL amps, very good. Both amps are clean sounding but JL is just better IMO.

I also have the original Alpine V-12s. I have been running them with many different sets of speakers, and I have never had a complaint. I am putting in a full set of Focals this weekend, and I plan on swapping the V-12s out. I will replace them with a JL 300/4 for the interior and a JL 500/1 for the subs. The only reason I plan on swapping them is that they belong in my other car. I have never had a problem with them in several years. The reason I have chosen to go with the JLs this time around is that I believe they will push a bit more power for the price, and they are nice and clean.

Just my two cents, MrMaJ

i install alot of memphis amps at the shop and i like the Studio series amps. The 2003 models are black chrome and the 2002's regular chrome. they have a 75 X 4 model...don't think anything larger

also, look into the avionixx amplifiers (www.avionixx.com). Very nice amps so they're not the cheapest out there but well worth the money. lots of features, high quality, underrated...i'll be running an AXT 800.2 (200 X 2 @ 4 ohm stereo) on my Memphis M-Class 6.5" components (150W RMS)

what kind of price range are you looking at? I can think of a few brands but they vary alot in price

After all the events that transpired this weekend I will have to put the amp on the back burner. Long story short, the car crapped out, and I had to drive 500 miles rounds trip to go back and get her with the flatbed. Gotta get her runnin first! Thanks for all the info guys!!

Thumbs up

If/when you get back to amp shopping - Xtant! Plenty of deals to be found on eBay, etc.
