I have had XM for over a year and love it. One of these two systems will come to the top in the end and I"m betting it will be XM. You can do the billing by the year on a cc and I think you get a discount.

GM is now offering it as an option in many of their cars..

Performance has been very good with only a few minor signal drops in heavy trees or downtown areas with very tall buildings.

If your a NASCAR fan, they have MRN which carries all the races.

XM isn't the only one in the Manufacturers pools.

All of these auto makers are on w/ Sirius.

Also Sirius can be paid upto 6 years in advance w/ a discount.

They are both going to be fine... the biggest decision maker will be the lineup.

Also Sirius already has the capability to broadcast movies on its bandwidth and will start in about 12-18 months. So people w/ multimedia systems will want to go with them. I know I will be signing up with them when I freshen up the system in my Suburban.

In a side by side test, it is pretty established that xm sounds better. It is not as compressed digitaly as Sirius. I have xm, and love it, but if sound is not as important, go with content. The difference in sound is more readly apparent when you bring it indoors to your home and hook it up.
Google both, and you will find forums for both camps. http://www.xmfan.com/index.php http://siriusbackstage.com/
