I'm torn between the MB Quarts Q series or the Focal Polyglass. I have to believe the MB Quarts Q series would be better than the Focal Polyglass. So if someone or every one who has heard a set of either or both could chime in I would appreciate it.
Just so you know I've ALWAYS used Kicker but now I want some really good sound quality now.

The higher-end range of Focal speakers, along with some of Dynaudio's efforts, are some of the best speakers I've heard in a car. Like everything else, it's the setup and install that makes or breaks, but you can't go wrong with either. I've heard and briefly owned MB Quart separates...nothing really wrong per se, just not quite as faithful to the music is all.

I personally have Focals and, dude, they can SING! Of course, my ears aren't fine-tuned enough to hear differences between any high-level speakers (they all sound incredible), but I'm glad I got my 165 V2's. I think either of the two that you get will be a great choice.

I desided to go with the Focal's and they arrived today, and let me tell you these things are a work of art. If they sound as good as they look I'm going to be a very happy camper. Once I get them in I'll let you know how they sound.

Miket,
No I don't mind. At the moment I only have the Kicker R6c's and ND22 in the door's but I will be putting the Focal's 165V2's in place of the Kicker's when time permits. I got the Focal's from indoaudio.com I payed $243 to my door. As far as my set up goes at the moment I don't have any thing in at the moment. I'm redoing the door's, rear deck and the subs. The subs are Kicker SL5 2ohm 15's driven by a PPI 1200.2 art series amp and all the sound speakers will end up being all Focal's and powered by the same type amp's and I listen to just about anything as long as it has a good beat and I can play it loud. I like to make my ears ring now and again.

Hey Boomer. Sorry I forgot about my post here and wasn't able to answer your question. But as you may already know, they fit really well with the classic 6 1/2" templates (with a minor trim job of the door metal to clear the speaker basket). 1/2"-thick plywood was plenty for me.

I don't know where you mounted your crossovers, but a great location is the small rectangular opening above the speaker. I recessed the crossover into that opening using 3/4" aluminum flatbar from Home Depot. Just make sure you clear the window when it's down. Once it's all in, you'll enjoy every last note playing through those speakers.

I would have to agree Focal's make beautiful music, I have them in my don't shoot me Honda, and they will be migrating to my SS in the next month or so. Paired with my Xtant amps they are possibly the best sounig speakers on the market. If only B&W would make car audio.

Actually...B&W used to make a fine component plate car speaker way back in the day (late 80's). Very inefficient, needed lots of good power to drive them, but a fairly honest speaker nonetheless.
