I never posted in here before, heck I hadn't ever clicked on the area 'til a couple weeks ago.

My brother has a 15" woofer in a box that he said I could use if I wanted to buy an amp for it. What/where can I do with this? It is huge and takes up allot of trunk space.

I'd ask what kind of amp to buy, but seems he has found the one he used to use with it. A Cobalt I dunno what, audio aint my gig.

Also a 'thumper' 4x75 amp. He offered to sell the stuff to me, but didn't know what for $$ wise. He paid probably around $600 back in the mid 90's I think...

Any info or comments? I know I didn't give much to go on, but I don't know much about this sort of thing...

Woofer prices vary greatly. First off, find out what kind of woofer it is, then find some information on it. Make sure the box he has for it is the recommended size. Then look up current pricing information. A 4x75 amp will not work for woofer, if this is what you meant.

You can probably get a brand new subwoofer of equal/better quality for the same price. There have been huge advances in car audio since the 90s. HTH.

If your going to upgrade your speakers on all 4 corners the 4x75 will be fine to power the front speakers and some 6x9s on the rear deck.(Depending on the specs). However it will not power the 15" woofer. You will need a seperate amp for that. I have 2 12s and they take up some space. You will have to decide is the Bass or sound system worth not having a trunk. There are some custom stereo shopps that can make you a box for the 15 but it just takes up too much room in my opinion. but to each their own. My 2 12s fit snuggly on each side of the trunk in 2 seperate boxes. It takes up space however i still have a useable trunk. I also have and use the full size spare.

My brother has a DD Audio 15" in his trunk in a 4 cubic foot box. It takes up a huge amount of room.
