I just bought 2 15" Power Acoustik Farenheit series subs and an 1800 watt amp. i know a lot of you don't like this brand, but i have heard power acoustik before and really liked it. but anyways, i don't know what kind of box would sound better... sealed or ported. i don't know if i will get 2 single enclosures (one on each side of the trunk) or one big box in the middle. i really don't want to take up all the space in the trunk. what do you think? i need answers fast because i plan on getting the box in the next 3-4 days. thanks for any help.

I don't know anything about those subs (but I have heard good things) as far as box size is concerned, but sealed is going to save space over ported. Ported should be louder but since it is in the trunk I don't think you could fit a ported box for 2 15s in it unless you built it into the trunk.

I would definatly put them in seprate chambers. And in most cases sealed is better for sound quality than ported but I have heard alot of systems that used ported boxes and they sound really good.

thanks for the help. i went and got it today. 2 single boxes would not fit on the sides. too big. the trunk hinge hit the box when i tried to shut it. so i got one Fusion dual enclosure. has one of those boards in the middle to "prevent cross-talk" and some kind of cotton lining on the inside. the audio store i got it from said it was a high quality box. i'll let you guys know what it sounds like once i get it in.

With 1800 watts it aught to be LOUD. I only got 1000 going to mine and it hurts sometimes.

Watch out don't listen to it like that for too long. You will turn out like me.

WHAT? is the word I use the most. and I keep hearing this ringing sound. And I only have 1000 watts.

just remember that the volume buttons go up and down and you will be ok. I seem to have forgotten how to turn the volume down.
