I am going to add to my car audio system in the next couple months. I want to start buying pieces but want to get some opinions. Follow the links if you want specs on the products.

Head unit:
JVC KD-SX770, already in the car

Front speakers:
JBL P632 70W RMS 2way 6.5" components to replace my JBL GTO 4x6 plate speakers
JBL fronts

Rear Speakers:
JBL GTO 925 100W RMS 2way 6x9's, already in the car
JBL rears

Two JBL powervalve amps:
For my highs a 80.4 amp rated at 40W RMS x 4
JBL 80.4 4 channel amp

For the subs a 300.1 mono amp
JBL 300.1 mono

Subs:
2 Kicker Comp 10's (4ohm versions wired in parrell)free air in a baffel board.
Kicker Comp subs

What I am looking for is a system with good sound quality, not a ton of bass. I also plan to apply sound deadener to the car over the winter. What do you think?

Thanks

It's all a matter of choice and what you can afford

I would stay away from JBL, that is my opinion.
In my experience, the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies to car audio.

The kickers you chose for your subs are a great choice, I've been more than happy with kicker subs I've had in the past.
As far as speakers go, this is the hardest choice. I have yet to hear a 6x9 speaker that sounds great in a stock location. I would Install a 6.5" round speaker component system in the 6x9 location. The 6.5" component system in the front doors is a good idea, if you can fit them. For speaker brand I would stay with a high end Infinity or Polk. Kenwood makes awesome electronics, but I've been disappointed by their speakers.
I'd suggest purchasing a kenwood amp however.
I've beat the snot out of Kenwood amps in the past, and it has never failed.

Cool

I would agree with BCs71. JBL is kind of mediocre (sp?) equipment. Go with something from Boston Acoustic for your speakers. Alpine makes a very good line of amplifiers. The JVC head unit isn't at all bad. And the Kicker sub (only 1) is a good choice since you don't want a TON of bass. A good pair of 6 x 9's will put out a goodly amount of bass, too. Again, its pretty much what you can afford. I'm of the opinion that you get what you pay for.

If you've got questions, drop an e-mail.

Depending on what your looking for ive heard a couple good setups... Im working w/ two sets of the kappa perfect 5.1's 6.5" component system's in the front/rear and they scream! Very peaky highs, i wouldnt brag about the mids though. For mids id go w/ a set of MBQuartz - But once again the Quartz i dont think have that tweak - I've got a couple shots of the install on a website you can check out. You can get an idea for tweeter position.

I do not hear good things about JBL. I have heard systems with MB Quart and JL Audio that sound really good.
