What's up, I'm new to the scene, because, I just bought my 94 imp and now i'm doing a little shopping for my baby. THE TRUNK IS HUGE. What is the best "sounding system" (in your opinion) for it. But, keep in my mind I listen to jazz, neo-soul, and gospel. So, i love bass that's deep and clear... please don't tell me about no superexpensive subs. LoL, i'm a college student...

Thanks for your time,
Kenny

for what you'rereferring to,it sounds like you're wanting noce smmoth bass, that will hit the low freqs with a nice flate response curve...

eastiest way to do this (with a lot of output) is to get a large displacement driver and put it in a sealed box..

find a 15/18" sub with decent power handling, etc, and put it in a bax that works out to a qtc of about .7..

Ive played around with different qtc's and this (recommended for home use) works really well for me in my wagon, but it may be different in a sedan......

Ive got 2 elemental designs 19ov2 (18") woofers in a 6.3 cube sealed box, getting about 700 wrms a piece.. they go low with authority, and sound great woth my funk music that I jam out to...

also sounds good with everything else Ive tried as well///

I know that fi car audio has a sub called a q, that is supposed to be very good @ hitting the lows (under $300), and there are many more....

check out some car audio forums, those are the best places to figure out what works for you

Well, do you want to bleed the block or just have a little bump in the trunk?

2 good 15's and you'll hear that sh*t a mile a way but if you just want to feel the bass notes, 1 12" will do it....

Thanks guys, I want it to sound go, LoL. I dunno how to put it, but, i want it to touch and tell the differences in bass notes. because some of my jazz has some very deep bass and some has some not so deep bass.i love the deepness of a 15, 18 seems like it won't fit in my trunk, but could the bigger subs play the "shallow" bass with clarity as well? if so what other subs are good??? Thanks

I had 2 18's in the trunk of my 93 sedan.

What's your budget? And how much room are you willing to part with?

i have my amp, it's a autotek 1000.1 mono block. I have a deck, in-dash. i dunno, I really don't have a budget, but, i do know what's good and what's not, but, it's just this dang trunk size. LoL. I'm willing to use most of it, just need a lil space for groceries and etc.. Just long as the price isn't outraegous, i'm willing to look to invest.

what kind of dec are you using? I use interfire audio its similar to JL and half the price. And I have gotten most of my friends to use it since I sell their products and I am very impressed.

2 12" Stereo Integrity Mags was my favorite setup that I had in the trunk of my sedan.

With the amp you are using you're going to need a one ohm final load, so it's either (commonly) 2 dual 1's or 4's or a single dual 2.

My suggestions...

a Single 15 ported that does well off 1000 watts, you could use a Stereo Integrity Mag, or a Fi Car Audio Q, You could even do an 18 Q sealed or ported if you don't have a problem putting most of your groceries in the back seat.

or you could Do a pair of 12's.... like Stereo Integrity BM's, Soundsplinter RL-P's (TC9), Fi Car Audio SSDs (w/Copper Coil Option).

Of course there a lot more options out there, thesee are just the companies I am familiar and have experience with.
