If you're talking about the one out of the Fleetwoods, it sucks. I have really good speakers attached to mine and there is still noticable distortion, even at low volumes. It's not very accurate and the soundstage is terrible. The radio reception is the worst in any car I've ever owned too. Just my opinion though.

The head unit is just a remote control panel for the radio and amp which are located in the trunk. Which means WAY too much wiring would be involved...

Just get an aftermarket radio and be happy with it.

Did I mention that the Caddy system sucks?

EDIT: Sorry, missed the 2nd question. Yes, you can put bigger speakers in the door using a template. Stock is 4x6, using the template, you can install a 5.25", 6", or 6.5".
Here's the link: https://www.impalassforum.com/tech/au...r_template.htm

Friends dont let friends buy Bose anything. Bose is a four letter word. I am licensed to say this because I actually own bose products. The stuff is over priced, underperformed, and over marketed. They live off a reputation from the '70's, and maneged to hang on.
Go to audioreviews.com, punch in bose, and hang on. Overpriced crap. BTW, I dont like bose. Just my opinion, I may be wrong....

I was thinken abiout a bose radio from a late model caddy sevile or devile. WHat is a radio that will retain the stokc size. I dont like how aftermarket radios are so small.

You beat me to it!<laugh> I love saying that qoute, too

The more I hear Bose speakers "home or mobile" the harder it is for me to understand why a bunch of people love them.
But to each it's own.

For car audio, Bose isnot the place to go, they do have some good home theater speakers, but other companies do beat them. I like cambridge soundworks philosophy, don't produce stuff for cars, only for home theater, and do a good job of it. I have a cambridge soundworks 5.1 system in my dorm at school, and while I have heard better sounding speakers, I essensitally have 4 2 inch satellites, 1 2.5 inch center channel and a tiny sub, but my room gets louder and sounds clearer than almost any other room on the floor, and lots of kids here have some expensive audio equipment in their rooms.

I HAD Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers in my dorm room back in 91. I miss them speakers.
You could drive'em with a pocket radio<laugh> They were pretty loud. I am VERY happy with my JBL L5's
