Looking to see if anyone has a set of Walker 24225 & 24226. These are the rear resonators (left & right) with tips in the 2.5" diameter for the 94-96 caprice/impala. They were avaiable 2 years ago but are now out of production. I have phoned Dynomax to confirm. Doing exhaust on my Caprice and wish i would have bought them 2 years ago. New or used (in good shape obviously). Let me know, thanks!

I phoned them and they can still order 24226 but finding 24225 has proven difficult. i really want a mellow sound and stock type mufflers and resonators will hopefully do the trick. worst case walker still makes stock resonators, but they are 2" diameter. it would definitely give it the sleeper look i am going for!

thanks sherlock. looks like the even the stock rear resonators are out of production aswell now that i look on rockauto. i was able to find one of the OTA pipes on amazon and the other one I found a Canadian supplier that claims they have stock of the other side that is out of production. so fingers crossed, because that will save me some $$$ getting custom exhaust work done. I found a 20" dynomax superturbo muffler 17749 that is only 1" longer than stock, so i am hoping it will work. if not I could run a 16" size that is close to what can with the now out of production 2.5" dynomax kit. i have a knock off set of dan's first gen tri-y's (focuztech) and i am hoping it will be quietiet than with the spintech sportsman xl's i have now. I have some "round" magnaflow resonatorw but they didn't
help much...

This seems to happen every other year or so. When I was in the market for some just two years ago I ran into the exact same problem. Shortly after I started looking Walker must have gone back into production, as it didn't take too long for me to get a pair.

With a bit of work, a couple of Walker 24246's can be made to work.

Just a suggestion.

^^^. You can find SS turn down tips to put on them and weld on hangers

Or buy 2 of the correct one on Summit and just move the hanger to the other side

I have the 2.5" Dynomax resonator/tips. FWIW I also hit the wall when looking for new 2.5" over axle Dynomax pipes. I found the PS at Autozone for $22 a year or so ago but no one had the DS....until last month when it showed up at Autozone. It was $42

Like the Gates PS fill hose that is/was not available...some of these parts do re-surface.

As these appear (again and frequently) to be at least temporarily unavailable, just throwing out that I had tried this route too when doing the catback on my Cady. I don't find listing price now, but recall they were up there considering an all-in-one resonator/tailpipe. Not being able to find any in stock anywhare I elected to do without and just try the new system without any resonators and decide from there. Well, I installed half a 2-1/2" Summit catback (Heartthrob) with an H- kit, and after getting Flow Super 50s (chambered, and from reading seemed closest to great but discontinued Hooker Aeros) I resigned myself to turbo style mufflers - (despite them having FG packing - which I don't like) and went with 20" Dynomax. I get just the tiniest drone at 76mph on level ground so am ordering Jones 18" glasspaks (whick BTW look a good deal longer than pics of the Walker unit = quieter perhaps). The Heartthrob tips are nice S.S. so will just get some special hangers available from Dynamax, Pypes or other suppliers.

Moment of silence... as of 3/20/2023, 24225 and 24226 appear to have been scrubbed from the internet. And the old Ultra Flo SS mufflers 17258 and 17259 that were part of the Dynomax catback are gone as well. That was a great system.

Man I remember when these cars were new, there were catbacks from Hooker, Flowmaster, Dynomax, Borla, Billy Boat, and more. All gone but Borla, Jegs and a Pypes system. Clear Image I believe is still making a system for these as well.

Yep.....I have the Dynomax system on both my Impalas. ;)

Sad and unfortunate that it'll no longer be available.

Unlike some people here, I don't believe in keeping these cars 'OE' or 'bone stock'.
Part of what makes them special, is that they can be improved upon and at the same time personalized.

GM originally aimed these cars at NON-enthusiast pensioners, some of whom were likely buying their final car.
...
So, yea, it really sucks when options get taken off the table for us to improve upon our B- & D- cars.

I bought the DynoMax OTA 2 1/2" pipes from Autozone a while back for around $30 each when I found them individually over a few months checking online. They are in my parts stash now. The DynoMax SS resonators/tips are still in great shape. The rest of the system, like many of us is a Frankenstein system (FM 2 1/2" CATS, Pypes X, Spintech XL's)

The full 2 1/2" DynoMax system was the first mod I did to my 96 back in 97
