Have you tried pounding the top of the dash - it sometimes brings it back to life - at least temporarily. Not the best option if at all worried of cracking it. Though spreading the load with padding is on the table. Otherwise, mine has faded off at times and then lit back up. With this weather it appears it happens most after being in the sun 1/2 hour. Next morning = it works again.

Someone was selling one here recently, not sure of year.

Check with your inspector about speedometer swapping. The cluster is what remembers the mileage so you would be displaying the mileage of the replacement not your car's mileage.

Have a look at the repair sticky. "fixing the pads" may not work, but if you find cracked solder joints it may just need some resoldering. See the last posts for the missing pictures. There are still places that will repair these clusters and keep your mileage.

If you are looking for a digital speedometer 95 Caprice/Impala cluster they are the same for 94,95, and 96. The Impala 1996 cluster is very different and needs car wiring changes to plug into a Caprice.

If hitting the dash, or removing and installing the cluster gets it working for a few minutes then you have a good chance of getting it repaired.

Tried the sticky's advice on fixing the issue. No luck.......Not too concerned on the mileage because I plan on keeping this forever.
