I don't know the name of this engine hose (photo attached). The hose in the picture with "1/4" on it. The hose is dry rotted and I want a replacement. Please let me know if anyone has one for sale or where I can buy one. Also, what is the name of this particular hose. Thank-you.
Dry rotting hoses are a common thing, and are something I have replacing on both my cars recently. You can use the Caprice parts manual at 9c1.net to look up the GM parts. Being emissions related items they should hopefully still be available. One other solution and probably cheaper is to go to your local auto parts store and get the appropriate size of vacuum hose. Its usually available by the foot, just need to know what size and how much of it you need. Since you are replacing the one it probably would not hurt to replace the rest of the hoses as well. - Peter
There is a name for the entire kit, that has two or three hoses in it. Chances are that if one is gone, they all are bad. If thy get leaky enough, they will throw a CEL. IIRC it is called the Evaporative Emission hose kit or the Charcoal Canniser Kit...or something similar. They plug into the charcoal canniseer that is buried down below there.
i have replaced several of these but i just got the same size from the parts store,i keep a couple feet of each size and as long as its not vaccum hose just cut your own to size.
There you go. Hope this helps. For future reference, www.shbox.com has awesome diagrams of many parts and part #'s for these LT1/L99 engines.
