5x130mm Bolt Pattern on 5x127mm

Can we run a 5x130mm wheel on our cars (1996 Impala SS)? I'm thinking if I change the studs to a tapered set, I might be alright?

Firewood where are you?!

No it will not work.

Or maybe it will for short time then the wheel studs would snap and you would fly off the road killing you and who knows who else and no one will be endorsing that plan. I doubt anyone is going to tell you that a 3mm mismatch in bolt patterns is a smart move.

If the offset is high enough on the new wheels adapters could be a safe option.

Gotcha fellas. I was being cheap, not wanting to pay the extra money to have em machined. I went ahead and did it right. Thanks for the help.

Nobody answered my 'shadetree' question though. I was thinking of getting some stronger ARP (don't even know if they exist) studs with the same knurl width but different thread/bolt width (smaller to compensate for the bolt pattern). This might be a way of upping the ante on the wheel combos available to us. Has anyone tried something like this?

What the frack? Hell friking no! You bolt pattern is 5x127 and that is non-negotiable unless you actually modify the vehicle (see the 5x4.75 sticky.)

A note to anyone else. Do not ever try to fit a wheel that is not 5-127 on your car. Ever.

For that matter, I never liked the idea of putting 5x114.3 wheels on 5x115 cars and 5x120 wheels on 5x4.75 (120.56) cars. But people do that.

It is not worth trying. People's lives are at risk.

The bolt pattern is what it is, and for the proper, strong fit they have to have studs centered in the holes. Anything else is asking for trouble.

Being hubcentric is pretty important too but having the lugs seated squarely in the wheel is the top of the list.
