Did all 96 SS's come with a key FOB?

Hey All,

My 96 SS has electric locks, but didn't come with any Key FOB's. Did all 96 SS's have FOBs?

If so what is the best route to replace the FOB? If not, I have to imagine there is a way to install that option. Am I correct?

Yes the 96 "SS" (read IDK about other B Bodys) came with a key fob to lock/unlock doors and trunk

Also easy to tell: RPO AU0 on the SPID sticker on the bottom of the trunk is keyless entry.

There is an AU0 on the sticker but not RP0 ??

RPO means Regular Production Order

Those three Digit codes are the RPOs

I don't fully understand that reply but VATS is not tied to the keyless entry. Two different systems on these cars.

Once the proper key fob(s) are obtained, the car can be put in "learn mode" to learn the new remotes. It's been a while since I did this but I recall jumping two wires on a wire harness connector to put it in "learn mode". I'm sure the instructions are somewhere here on the forum.
