Oil Leak

I have been chasing an oil leak for a while. The oil pan is dry, drain plug, filter, even the front seal looks good, but it has drips on the bellhousing (T-56) and the trans is wet as well as the right cat (when driving).

The clutch does not slip, oil pressure is good, just makes a mess. I have not looked at the oil pressure sending unit or back of the intake yet, need to clean real good and look while it is running, this weekend.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful, engine is stock at 150 k miles.

Ding, Ding, Ding! I think you're on the right path. I'd highly recommend looking at the intake manifold bolts and checking their torque.

Have you done that yet? If not, you may likely find some of them just snug tight. Worse case scenario is that you'll need to R&R the gasket.

No I have not. i dumped the oil cooler lines and block, the filter was loose (i did not do the last oil change) but all that is new and tight and no leaks there. Next step will be clean the back of the engine and check intake and oil press sender.

run your hand along the back of the intake....is it oily? if so replace intake gasket/rv

rear intake leak is common. RMS not as much but can leak. Look up under the car through the small slot at bottom of bell housing (dust cover)...and see if there is oil dripping from the bottom of the crank

There is oil dripping off the bottom of the bellhousing, and have looked up thru there at the back of the motor and pan area and it is dry. Inside the trans/clutch area is dry as well, leads me to believe it is intake or oil press sender.

I know the trans has been out once or twice, and my bro was pretty thorough (While in there might as well thing) so I know the RMS is probably good.

And no I have not done any up top looking yet, will this weekend.

Thanks
