Yes, you can bypass this system. You have to know the resistance of your ignition and then wire a resistor of that value in the circuit. I just did this myself because I also kept having problems with the system. If you remove the hush panel under the dash and locate the plug for the system. It is a small black plug wire orange insulator. Cut the wire and there are 2 white wires inside. Put the resistor between these wires and plug it back in. Pass key system thinks there is a key with the correct resistance in the ignition. Of course this disables your factory theft deterrent. HTH. Glenn

 

One thing to use instead of a normal resistor is to use an adjustable resistor. I got one from Radio Shack because I could not find a resistor that was close enough. With this little device, use a multimeter to dial in the needed value. The adjustment is made with a small screw driver. I did this with my Camaro and it works fine. I am too cheap to buy the expensive keys!
