While I save $2300 for another transmission, I decided to try a stand alone micro controller for my 4l60e with a switch to control the torque converter. The switch has auto & manual for the torque converter. This 4 wire system bypasses the pcm & plugs directly to the transmission. I’m curious if anyone has done this cause it’s now a standard & well…it works. I was given a 95 transmission when it was supposed to have been a 93. Regardless due to the PWM facts I simply slapped in this 95 transmission in my 94 & the car drives….it’s kinda beastly sounding & annoying to drive sometimes. My shop made a mistake so for now, she moves. I must say it’s pretty cool, depending on the driving conditions. My question is has anyone ever used this bypass? I did buy it on eBay instead of me making one. I think I might has to reprogram my pcm but we will see. Seems to bog out a bit in 3/4 but the car boogies.
