I have recently bought a 95 caprice 9C1. Does anyone know what is has to be done to make the inside door handle and windows work again? Your info will be greatly appriciated. Thank you!!!

When I purchased my 9C1, I had the same problem. All I had to do was remove the rear interior door panels and re-connect the latch mechanism to the handle. It was just disconnected and taped to the door. Piece of cake, you should have no trouble.

Some departments may have used them alone, but it was an option on the 9c1s to have it disconnected altogether. But it is a good idea to try the safety locks first before ripping open your door.

If its not, Id recommend you fix it ASAP, otherwise you'll have to deal with every passenger who ever rides in the back *insisting* that its just the child safety locks and that you have no idea about how your own car works like they do to me

Save yourself the anguish and do what Pistonhead suggests. One of these days I'll get around to doing the same to mine.

This is why I love this place. I had no idea those little switches were there! Thanks VIN man! - Jim

Dead serious. I'm not the sharpest knife... but I can't be the only one out there who hadn't noticed those nondescript little levers. Never underestimate the ignorance of people like me. :D :D - Jim
