Are Intake and Exhaust Valve Stem Seals Different?

I know that there are two part numbers (10212810 for intake, 12558674 for exhaust), but are they actually different? I asked for valve stem seals for my '96 SS at the local auto parts store and they came up with Felpro part # SS 72861, which consists of 16 seals. According to the guy behind the counter, the book shows this kit replacing both intake and exhaust seals, which makes sense because there are 16. BUT, there are two OEM part numbers and the Felpro box only says it replaces part # 10212810. Thus my question. Anybody? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I went to the Federal Mogul website and looked up valve stem seals for my car. I came up with two possibilities. The set that I referred to above, and separate seals for intake and exhaust that are sold 8 each. The part numbers and descriptions for the separates are: ST2125 -- Exhaust Valve Seal (Positive Type) and MV1233 -- Intake Valve Seal (O-Ring). So what gives? Thanks.

I read about GM putting a different seal on the exhaust after people complained about a noise, I believe that is why GM lists two different parts. When I got my cam swap parts from Combination Motorsports they sold me 16 "blue band" seals they are a GM part recommended to me by a trusted former GM tech. Sam from CM was not sure if they were right so he went and tried them out while I was on the phone and they fit. If you are interested in those give CM a call, I tried to find a PN so you could call Dal or a local dealer but I lost the reciept. CM will give a Dal like price though so no big deal there.

Thanks. I appreciate your looking for the receipt. I went ahead and bought the Felpro seals while I was there because I want to be able to do them this weekend when I plan to replace my valve springs and rockers (nothing special, unfortunately, just new stock parts that I got super cheap). It sounds like these should work if you were able to use 16 of the same ones. Cool.
