Yea i believe he's right. At least my new stock aftermarket bumper needed a moulding. It was only available in chrome in my case. Well I damn sure didnt want chrome so i painted mine. Actually I put down a piece of vinyl (sticker) first and painted that. Paint sticks to vinyl better than chrome IMO.

I believe the part is referred to as an "impact strip" and you have the 1long piece on the front and the 2 short side pieces on the rear bumper.

The piece is called the "Molding. front bumper fascia"
Nalley Buick GMC shows them on their site, the black one is 68 bucks, the chrome one is 22 bucks.

We decided to source a new Molding in black and will paint it DGGM. The DGGM is the color discontinued, black continues to be manufactured.
