I seem to remember someone here linking to an online report that showed California smog test results along with the mileage included. Can't find it now. I'm looking at buying a used car, it seems to be more used that the odometer shows. While I do have all my smog test results since I have owned the SS (original owner), this "history" listing shows even Fail results during a test which occurred a few times over the years. The Fail was a result of aborted test either from shops equipment problems or operator stalling my car while on the rollers (stick car) which was the typical reason. Smog tech never mentions this. Car has always passed smog even with significant engine mods
but it also shows this:
Vehicle Information
STAR Certification Required: NO
Referee Certification Required: NO
Program Area: ENHANCED
carvins.net
But all my smog notices from DMV have been the "STAR" test required so apparently a disconnect between BAR and DMV. STAR test facilities are typically "less friendly"
I have also noticed over the years, test results vary in readings on a car that has about 3k mi more each smog test which I suspect is variances between one shop or another is equipment/software and or operator with a heavy foot, especially on a stick car. I could see changes between 25k+ mi intravels....but only 3k mi, no.
