I have used a couple different Gabriels including whatever they speced for the 9C1 and found the life to be rather short. Monroe severe service get my vote for relatively inexpensive but good performing shock.

 

I would not put Gabriel shocks on these cars. I did just that (the shocks are their white truck shocks) and the ride is loose and cushy - just the opposite of the Monroe Severe Service which are really tight and stiff. Hope this helps you make up your mind.
