so I am trying to get my 1995 impala interior redone. I want to change the whole interior to black(dash included). seats redone, headliner redone, carpets redone. everything restitched including the steering. also want something done to the door. not sure but I am tired of the panel coming off. I don't mind swaping it maybe. what do you think this project will cost. I'm not trying to do any of the work myself. Thanks

Well I can tell you how much I am in for redoing my interior all black.

But before I take a step further. There is a website that sells refurbished door panels in a few dif colors to include black that are $900 including shipping. (I did not buy it because my panels are in good shape and its a swap for)

Now I am doing things myself. This would be one of those Variables that Sinister is talking about...

I bought 16 cans of Dupli-Color Vinyl/Fabric Paint flat black. Cost me roughly $120

I bought 4 cans of Dupli-Color Vinyl/Fabric Clear/Gloss $48

I bought one can of the dupli color Plastic and grease( this will eat away any texture plastic.) i only used it on the dash . $10

2 bottles of Lysol Disinfectant cleaner (yellow bottle).
It has alcohol in it. The alcohol will be safer on the brittle plastic and cur grease and all the BS thats collected over the years. About $6.

I spent two or three days worth of time removing everything from inside. Including the Dashboard.

I paid $60 bucks for 3 yards of Suede headliner fabric
Theres enough to even do the visors

I bought a FS Steering wheel leather wrapped and adapter to replace the stock thats was $265. I will do a write up for that when it comes.

I bought my Carpet from RockAuto. I believe it was between 100-150 bucks.

I paid $48x2 for sound deadening padding because Why not take that opportunity to make the interior more sound proof.

It will cost me $150 to replace my Arm rest hatch.
It will cost me 960 give or take dollars to Order my Seat covers and if I don’t do the work my self an Upholster will charge me around $150 bucks last time i quoted.

seat belts... If you want to get those replaced to match. Your looking at 150 each or something like that i could be wrong but i needed 5 and it was gonna be more than what i felt i should spend.

So i painted mine and then worked them until they were soft lol.

Oh i bought the door pull caps that was $45
And a replacement door panel bezel i broke because it was brittle like grandmas ginger cookies.

Im hovering around $700 somewhere in my rough math.

After I get the seat covers and lower dash kit for my radio i be at about 2 grand.

I saved myself a lot by doing the work myself I can only be mad at me if it doesn’t come out how I expected[emoji23] but everything has come out just how i like.

Here are some pictures I have taken along the way.

FYI-I didnt use gloss black because I didn’t want to use a clear coat over a gloss coat if that makes sense. The purpose of the gloss is to protect the areas that see high use from possible fading scraping away. (Thats how it was explained to me). Pretty much everything will have a coat of gloss for this purpose. The only thing that needed more than two coats was the Dash.(its big).

Hope this helps at least provide a variable. To guide you in your decisions

BigWill, Big Money,
The black looks good. I did similar in my SS. Not completed yet. Mine started with seats. My drivers seat was worn out. 310,000 miles. Looking for seats I settled on Dodge SRT8 seats. That’s right Dodge seats, what do you want for $200. Installing and wiring Dodge seats in a Chevy proved a little painful but they are Very Comfy and Snug. Then I repaired and repainted the dash pad with SEM landau black to match the black SRT8 seats and SEM medium gray for the lower dash panels. Now working on door panels. I’m using SEM charcoal gray for the lower door panels. I’m tired of all gray. It’s a lot to do and time consuming to repair the cracked and broken plastics to detail and get it to look good and repaint. Still need headliner redone and carpet replaced. Also back seat to match the SRT8 front seats.

@Lukeskywagon ; man that looks good!!! I like the dash came out really smooth...

It has been a time consuming process to fix cracks and sand out some blemishes scrapes.

Im at the point where it doesn’t have to be perfect. Just better than what it was [emoji23][emoji23]

I had a chance to grab 09 impala seats front and back for $300. And i passed on it. Now im wishing I had lol

Hopefully in the next week so I can start putting things back in...so i can move on to the exterior

I see you taped off your lower dash... I had to fix cracks around the radio so i ended up making it uniform.

I converted too black also. It's not in car yet but I did leather on dash, seats and door panels.
The headliner and plastics around door are wrapped in alcantara.
I was in for $6,000 with me installing it

Thanks for the compliments😁
Some people don’t like the idea of SRT8 seats.
$300 for those 09 Impala seats that’s a deal. I wish you got them. My replacement upper dash pad had small cracks I repaired. I painted with SEM landau black and clear coated with SEM satin clear as well. The lower dash is in good shape but I did repair cracks around the ashtray area then repainted with medium gray SEM and clear coated with SEM satin clear. I also painted my console lid black and cleared to. It’s Horrible every piece of plastic in this car is broken or cracked. I’m doing all the work my self so far. The door panel in the back didn’t exactly come out the way I envisioned in my head with the charcoal gray and black stripe separating the grey vinyl. I’m keeping the door panels vinyl grey but the lowers I wanted darker two tone. I seen pictures of Impalas with two tone interiors I thought looked good. Now my door bezels are really soft my fingers stick to them. I cleaned and painted one black and it really got soft it scared me. I’m not sure what to do with them yet. Both front door bezels are broken. The back seat I’m thinking black vinyl with black alcantara centers to match the front SRT seats. The headliner I’m keeping it grey to the original. I’m also going back with new grey carpet to compliment the grey carpet on the door panels and center console. I think the interior will look ok when it’s done. I’m still debating to cut the lower dash and install the detailSS double din stereo kit. Another project, I have a Kenwood 9990HD navigation head unit I’m thinking about installing to replace the factory radio unit. Ewwww..... it’s time for a new sound system. When I replace the carpet I’m also going to sound skin the entire floor, doors and trunk. Still have to mock up the dash to locate an area for the heated seat switches and wire the heated seats up. Still need to replace the lower control arm and shock.
