Removing tire from rim at junkyard?

I have a shot at getting some 9c1 rims from the u-pull it yard. Problem is, they are still on the car with the tires. They want $7 for each rim, but I would also have to spring 15-20$ for each tire. My question is if it's easy or practical to remove the tire while there to save about $80. Once it is flat, is it pretty easy to pop off the rim? Any help is appreciated.

No, it is not easy or practical. Have you never mounted a tire? You will damage the bead of the tires trying to do it yourself and will end up having to buy the tires as a result. Either have the yard un-mount them, buy them with the tires, or find another set of wheels. Good luck.

the hard part is breaking the bead loose.
without knowledge and the tools, doubtful.
you could take a tire mallet, couple of tire bars and some spray soap and do the job if you knew how or find somebody who does.

ALso, using a sawzall or cutoff wheel to remove a tire WILL make a cloud of smoke that looks and smells like a mile long burnout.
